10th October 2025 - Climavent Installs Titanium Grinding Booth for BAE Systems
Climavent has successfully completed the installation of a bespoke titanium grinding booth for BAE Systems, further strengthening the defence giant’s capabilities in advanced manufacturing and materials processing.
The custom-engineered booth was designed specifically to handle the high-risk and high-specification demands of titanium grinding.
Titanium is known for its strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance, making it vital in aerospace and defence applications. However, machining and grinding titanium generate fine, combustible dust, posing significant fire and explosion risks.
To meet these challenges, Climavent designed and installed an acoustic grinding booth equipped with:
Wet filtration system
Extraction plenums and local extraction arms
Sound-attenuated enclosure with manual sliding parts door
Pedestrian access door
Internal crane with a 1 tonne SWL
Controls system, integrating the extraction, power and air tools
